Administrative Review Tribunal
The Administrative Review Tribunal (formerly the
Administrative Appeals Tribunal) is the second tier of external
appeal process for a decision of the Repatriation
Commission.
Veterans have an automatic right of appeal to this
level. The Veterans' Review Board (VRB) will remain in
place as the first level of external review.
Detailed procedures are not yet available, and we stongly
recommend that if you wish to appeal a decision of the VRB to the AAT or the ART, you should consult an ex-service
organisation, (that you have confidence in), who have pension
officers that have competed the Training
Information Program, (TIP).
For further information on the AAT, visit their web site at www.aat.gov.au or contact their
offices. You can also obtain information from your nearest
DVA office or visit their web site at www.dva.gov.au and look up fact
sheet DP
68.
The Vietnam Veterans Association of Australia can assist any
veteran of any conflict, their widow/er's and
children by providing advice and assistance in regard to all
pensions matters. Simply contact your nearest sub-branch.
