Rutherglen - Victoria
This memorial commemorates the personal sacrifice and devotion
to duty of the personnel of Rutherglen and surrounding districts
who served their country as members of the Australian Defence
Forces during the Vietnam conflict 1962-1973.
The memorial is the result of the efforts of local Vietnam
veterans with support from the community, and consists of a pack
howitzer on a plinth, behind a stone wall.
It was dedicated on the 11th of November, Remembrance Day 1996
by the then National President of the Vietnam Veterans'
Association of Australia, Clive Mitchell-Taylor JP.
