A VETERANS' AFFAIRS
This web page provides access to updates of the information
pack.
INTRODUCTION
What is it?
An information pack prepared and presented as a service to the
Australian veterans' community by the Vietnam Veterans
Association of Australia, National Council, New South Wales
Branch Incorporated as a contribution to the Vietnam Veterans'
Year of the Family program. The pack has been compiled, in most
cases, from available Department of Veterans Affairs fact sheets
with reference to other government department and ex-service
organisations where appropriate.
Why?
It was found that a requirement existed for a pack of this
type to provide information to veterans and members of their
families that would be easy to read and understand, and that
could be easily updated as conditions change.
Organisation
The pack is designed for veterans or family members, Welfare
and Pension Officers. Each cover sheet is designed to be placed
in a three or two ring binder. Relevant
documents such as pension claim, DVA fact sheets or any other
relevant information or document you receive or create can be
placed in that section and you build a file on your “Veteran
Affairs”.
Contributions
All ex-service
organisations are invited to contribute and use the information
pack in their service to veterans.
We hope this
information pack will contribute to the service we provide to
veterans and their families, in applying for an entitlement or
benefit. To help them maintain a meaningful lifestyle and
overcome the information gap that can occur.
