Badges of Rank in the Australian Defence Force
These badges of rank differ slightly from the ones used in
Vietnam. The Coat of Arms that is the badge of rank for the Air
Force Warrant Officer, and Army's Warrant Officer Class One, was
at that time the Coat of Arms of England (Unicorn and Lion),
rather than the present Australian Coat of Arms with the Kangaroo
and Emu. Navy did not institute the Rank of Warrant Officer
until shortly after Vietnam.
